iptl 2020UPDATE 2/04/2020: the 2nd edition of the IPTL Conference was postponed till next year, and will take place in Groningen on 19-20-21 May 2021.

Sharing experiences and learning from one another are fundamental goals of the U4Society activities. Also the 'IPT&L' Conference supports staff members of the U4Society to connect and to enhance shared understanding on how teaching in an international classroom and working in an increasingly internationalised academic environment can be improved.

Conducted as a yearly event for teaching staff, programme coordinators and curriculum developers, the IPT&L conference’s 2020 theme is 'Student Engagement through Partnership. Students as partners in Teaching and Learning'. Both IPT&L-alumni and new U4Society colleagues, as well as students are invited to contribute and to take part in the discussions.

russia platform 2020The workshop addresses the question what kind of power applies to Russia. In doing so, it seeks to offer a platform for interdisciplinary discussions around different conceptualizations of power in the domestic and foreign relations of contemporary Russia.

The workshop is organized by the Ghent University Russia Platform and the University of Tartu. It is an extension of the annual colloquium of the Ghent Russia Platform and invites scholars affiliated with the Universities of the U4Society network (Ghent, Göttingen, Groningen, Tartu and Uppsala) to participate in interdisciplinary discussions around different conceptualizations of power under Putin’s rule, a topic that in January 2020 was re-actualized by the changes in Russian Constitution and the reshuffle in the government. Costs of participation of scholars from these five universities will be covered by the respective universities via the U4Society network.
